Received in late June as a surprise! :D Thanks Xuenan!
So that’s what modern Chinese post boxes look like: (online photos)
So what did Chinese post boxes look like in the past? :O Let’s take a look at some photos!
1929 in Tianjin 天津
1937 in Shanghai 上海
Traditional Chinese was used on the post box. That was before simplified Chinese was adopted in China.
1950 in Changchun 長春
The shape of this post box is interesting! xD
1960 in Beijing 北京
1988 in Beijing (for surface mail)
1988 in Beijing (for express mail)
Do you notice the difference between the postbox for surface mail and the one for express mail? xD
1988 in Beijing (pink post box!!!)
Pink post boxes are for love letters only! xD Interesting, isn’t it? They can be love letters for lovers, friends, family, etc.
I wonder if those old post boxes can still be found in China…*_*
